Artwork Meaning
This artwork is based around Ecclesiastes chapter 3, ‘A time for everything’. This is where the title ‘Season for everything’ came from (verse 1).
I wanted to paint something that was relevant and encouraging to all who viewed it. It is painted in traditional earthy colours on a black background. The overall circular pattern represents time and seasons.
The yellow sun in the centre of the design represents God. This is to show that God is the centre of our lives and his love flows and weaves throughout everything in life. The four circles around the sun represent the four seasons in a year and the different season we experience throughout life.
The circle closest to the centre represents ups and downs/ joys and sorrows. The second circle represents traveling and rest on the move or being still. The third circle represents holding on and letting go.
The fourth circle represents building relationships and moving on from relationships. The background captures all the other things that can happen in life and how God’s love is present through it all.
