Artwork Meaning
This Artwork is based on Joshua 24:15 ‘As for me and my household we serve the Lord.’ And shows how the verse is lived out. The white dotted circle in the centre of the artwork represents God. In order to serve God, He needs to be centre of our lives.
The yellow circle and star surrounding the white circle represents the sun and stars which show God’s light that shines through us day and night. When we serve the Lord well, others will see His light shining through us.
Daniel 12:3 says: “Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.” Each of the smaller circles represent family members. The circles are attached to the centre circle (God). As we serve the Lord there needs to be a clear connection to God who is the source of our strength and love.
The white dots connecting each smaller circle represents unity in the family and a close bond. The black wavy line represents the journey your family will go on as they live a life of service. It is a lifelong journey that will have highs and lows.
The blue rivers coming out from each family member represent the river of life. As the living water flows through us it provides refreshment and life which then flows on to others. When we are called to serve we are often required to step out in faith. T
his is seen through the series of mountain symbols that are connecting with the tips of the star. Corinthians 16:13-14 .Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love. [2 Thessalonians 1:3 Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.
The outside layer of the circle represents the Holy Spirit which is seen in Acts 2:1-4 in the form of fire. The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom and guidance to be able to live for God and serve others.
Acts 2:1-4. On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. 2 Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. 3 Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. 4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
The background circles represent community. Both the community we are trying to reach for Christ but also the community that supports us in our journey of faith and service. The black pathways that are running through the community is an extension of the rivers seen in the inner circle, this shows God’s love flowing out into the community and continuing on further than we might realise.
